A Tribute to Former Member George W. Bauman Jr.

George Bauman Jr. and his wife Virginia Bauman were founding members of Washington County Republican Women. George passed away at Boutwell’s Landing in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota on Saturday, February 19th, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eunice Bauman, and his wife, Virginia, and is survived by nephew, Charles (Leslie) Meyer and grandnephew, Garrison; niece, Christine (Kevin) Schneider and grandnephew, Andrew. He graduated from Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis and Macalester College in St. Paul. George served in the Air Force and he and Virginia were active in local government and the Republican Party, along with Washington County Republican Women. A memorial service will be held at Boutwell’s Landing (south of Hwy 36 and the city of Stillwater, behind Wal-Mart) at 2pm on Satuday, March 5th in the auditorium on the lower level  near the north entrance.
