Behind the scenes at the MN Capitol

Will Waggoner, SD 41 Chair (Lake Elmo, Cottage Grove and Hastings) has been busy with republican campaigns since graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College. He also worked at the MN Senate and now works as a lobbyist for a firm which promotes legislative and public affairs needs. Will emphasized the need for Republicans to unify to win. CD 2 is the most winnable Congressional pick-up seat in 2026. This past Legislative session has been chaotic and challenging to say the least. Unfortunately, the negotiation tactics of the DFL Governor and Leadership favor the DFL, behind closed doors as in the past. With the numbers so close, one person can really stop progress when they choose. When contacting legislators, Will recommended sending a personalized email as opposed to the “one click” emails which send a uniform message that are often ignored. Send it separately. All the email addresses for House and Senate follow a uniform format. For HOUSE: [email protected]  For SENATE: [email protected]  Scheduling a meeting with Legislative makes a bigger impact than attending rallies.
