Upcoming Fall Meetings:
Remembering Ronald Reagan and his call for civility – working together for the common good. It feels like the world has changed drastically since the 1980’s. Today, some Republicans are in conflict with each other rather than working together to move our agenda forward. Whatever happened to being an 80/20 Republican? You’re not going to agree with someone all the time and demanding 100% agreement can lead to a stalemate and losing ground.
Many thanks to all our members, speakers and elected officials who attended meetings, spoke and encouraged us this past year. The fall of 2022 began with enthusiasm for our MNGOP candidates. We heard some excellent speeches and talks. After the dust settled from the discouraging elections results, we found that the “new” Senate District 41 which includes Grant, Lake Elmo, Cottage Grove, Hastings and other communities in Washington County, had elected two new Republican State Reps. Mark Wiens and Rep. Shane Hudella. In spite of the losses many are getting energized as a result of the “jam down” by the DFL in the MN Legislature during the 2023 Session which made many drastic changes including tax increases for ALL. We are inspired and encouraged to take on the challenges presented so we can make improvements where we can. Get involved in your local elections, school boards, and party units. Stay tuned – we will be back to our meetings in Sept.
