Washington County Republicans to meet Sat. May 14, 9 am
at the Lake Elmo Inn, 3442 Lake Elmo Ave N.

Topic: Convention of States, Steve Davidson speaker
Come learn how Article V of the US Constitution gives us options to reign in our government!

Whereas the federal debt has become unsustainable, and the federal government has taken
more and more power reserved for the states, we urge our representatives and senators in the
Minnesota state legislature to co‐sponsor and pass the resolution for an Article V application which reads:

“Memorializing Congress to call a convention to propose amendments to the United States Constitution to
(1) impose fiscal constraints on the federal government,
(2) limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and
(3) limit the terms of office for its officials and members of Congress.”

The resolution currently in the MN state house is number HR362.

Many thanks to Luke Hellier with the Coalition for a Secure Energy Future who presented to the group this month. Their group supports using ALL energy resources and not eliminating options like coal. Because of reforms, US coal plants have severely reduced sulfur dioxide and nitrous oxide emission so that states like Minnesota have good air quality. But the governments Clean Power Plan, which is now being challenged in court, could cause our individual energy bills to go up by $400-500. in 4-5 years!! Scary. You can visit their website at http://secureenergyfuture.org/
They have an energy calculator and an easy way to contact elected officials. Check it out!
