Yes, you heard it right. The DFL has their very own mini donut stand at the Minnesota State Fair. KSTP featured the Grandstand Mini Donut Stand in a news story in 2008. If you coudn’t tell by the name, the stand is located right next to the Grandstand. It is owned by a DFL PAC which in 2007 donated $40,000 to DFL legislative candidate’s campaigns. So if you bought your mini donuts from that stand, the proceeds went to the DFL. Ouch, That will give you a stomach ache.

What is the moral of this story? If you find yourself craving a nice, hot bag of mini donuts while you are visiting the fair, purchase them from a non-DFL PAC booth! I especially like the ones from the Tiny Tim’s booth. The owner is a nice man, always hands my family some freebies out the back door (Don’t tell him I said that).
To the MN State Republican Party: You might want to look into purchasing a corn dog booth. We could beat them at their own game!
To the rest of you: stay cool, enjoy the fair with your non-DFL mini donuts and visit candidates at the Republican Party Booth! The Republican Party Booth is located at 1702 Carnes Avenue and is open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. everyday.

Rep. Michele Bachmann to Host Town Tall Meeting with Rep. Ron Paul
This will be an interesting town hall to be sure. I think I will be going to St. Cloud to check it out. This article is from minnesotaindependent.com:

In an interview with AM 1280 on Saturday, Rep. Michele Bachmann announced that she will have Rep. Ron Paul as her guest for a September town hall forum in St. Cloud.
“I’ll be doing another town hall up in the St. Cloud area in September and we’ll do that on monetary policy. Ron Paul is going to come in and we are going to host something on monetary policy,” Bachmann said.
Bachmann is a convert to the Ron Paul movement, sometimes attending the congressman’s weekly lunches.
“I especially want to speak to the 19- to 20-year olds so they can know what there future will be under this level of debt accumulation and spending,” she added about the forum. “They need to know their future. And so I’m bringing him in so we can have a discussion on monetary policy.”

British MEP Daniel Hannan on Reason T.V.
British MEP Daniel Hannan is mainly known and admired in the U.S. as the man who took it straight to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, telling him “you’ve run out of our money” and telling him that he is the “devalued prime minister of a devalued government”. He has been the talk of the town since his scolding of the Prime Minister on his spending habits.
In this particular video from Reason T.V., Hannan explains his Libertarian model for Great Britain. It is modeled after the founding fathers of our country, and it is exactly what we need to get back to. He also gives his take on health care in the United States versus Great Britain. This is great food for thought!
